Did Huckabee Know About The McCain Story?

I have to admit that a light bulb went off in my head last night when the McCain story broke.  The first question that came to my mind was, Did Huckabee know about this? and is this why he has stayed in the race?

It seems likely that Huckabee would have known about the McCain story.  Today Fox News’ Brit Hume made it clear that many members of the media have known about the McCain story for some time.  According to Hume, no one ran with it since it was not considered credible.  It was also mentioned briefly in the Drudge Report in December.  If Huckabee stayed in knowing there was some percentage chance of this coming out, why did Romney not do the same?  We may never know. 

McCain could be completely innocent of the charges, but there seems to be quite a bit of smoke here and a very attractive lobbyist.  If McCain is Lying, this could be the end of his candidacy and Huckabee may prove to be the smartest man alive by staying in the race.  We will see.
