Barack Hussein Obama

What’s in a name?  Apparently a great deal of controversy, and the latest is over the middle name of Barak Obama.  On one side, we are being told that his middle name should mean nothing and anyone who mentions it is a racist.  On the other side, this may be an indication that he is really a Muslim fanatic that can not be trusted to sit in the Oval Office.

I learned of the middle name of Obama via an e mail sent to me a few months ago.  The e mail contained a number of other factoids on Obama that were quite interesting.  I happen to fall somewhere in the middle on this one.  I think that having a middle name of Hussein, and having been raised at least for some period of a time as a Muslim is something to take note of.  In our current struggle against Islamic terror, Obama having some amount of a Muslim upbringing is a concern.  Here is a guy that repeatedly says that we should not have gone into Iraq for any reason.  We all know that Bill Clinton sat by doing virtually nothing as the United States was targeted over and over again by terrorists.  What would Obama do?  WWOD, should be the new question we start asking.  Is Obama a peace at all costs leader?  Would he have gone into Iraq to have stopped the invasion of Kuwait?  Would he have gone in if he believed they had nukes?  Would he go into Iran if they end up with nukes?  Would he have gone into Afghanistan after 9/11?

As a Christian, I have already ruled out Obama as my candidate since he appears to be on the wrong side of every social issue I believe in.  For those still on the fence, I would not completely ignore his middle name or his unwillingness to go after Islamic terrorists.
