Not all people who say they are Christians are Christians. To be a Christian in todays society has taken a whle new face.I do not think real Christians should get involved in worldly politics. As for Rush Limbaugh ,i feel so sorry for him.all he wants to be is a great American spokeman but he does not speak for all Caucasian people, neither do Al Sharpton /Jesse Jackson, speak for all African Americans. All he Rush, and others are ,is a temporary voice that i believe God has allowed to weed out this racisist vemom that has been running rampant (undercover)
but God is exposing it so that we can either get healed of it, or destroy America with it.
Other countries are watching and bidding their time for when we will do it to our selves while we bicker and fight and hate and tear this great nation down, and we will have no one to blame but us .Today we are calling the Islamic cult religion the secret terroist ,from all the junk coming out of people (and I am only addressing my fellow Christian brothers and sisters. The real enemy is fear & racisim, and we are buying into it.
Remember united we stand divided we fall.God bless us all and heal our land. From a Native/ Euro/Afro American who loves her country.

A Daughter

*blinks* Mr. Paris, my mom listens to your podcasts and told me the other night that she had joined Chirp. I decided to check you out for myself and was a wee bit startled by the title of this post, but after reading it, I laughed. Very very good! What appalls me is how many people didn't seem to get it. Sarcasm isn't bad. A sense of humor is a GOOD thing. (Surely God has one. Have you SEEN a platypus? *grin*) And your post hardly deserves the response it got!

I love the quote posted by Mr. Steinke. J.D.Sumner has always been one of our family favorites!

People, lighten up and enjoy the humor!

God bless, Mr. Paris!

Oh my, where to start. First, thank you for pointing out the discrepancies. Whatever the NFL decision making process was, something does seem to be out of balance.
As for Rush, whether he is right or not doesn't affect my beliefs, and I certainly wish the same was true for everyone reading this. Truth is set by God. Individuals, families, and governments who follow God's principles (socially, economically, politically, etc.) will be blessed and on the RIGHT side (God's side), whether they are a Christian or not.
To tacitly pronounce, "I am opposed to ANYTHING Rush says" IS equivalent to the accusation that you are following Rush like a "sheep to the slaughter" and other such analogies.
Yes, the Holy Book does require people to take care of those who are weak and unable to care for themselves. God did NOT require government to provide welfare.
God punished His own people for offering their own children in sacrifice (Read Ezekiel) and other sins. Who are we to think that abortion is different?
Just because Rush is on the conservative side, and just because he has a powerful voice, and just because he "is RIGHT" does not make Rush the standard! God is the standard, and ANYONE (including Rush, and you, and me) who agrees with Him is "RIGHT".
Thanks Jim

Rev. Dr. Barbara Embry

This is the first time I've read anything of yours, Jim, but you can be assured it won't be the last. This was a great article! I salute your imaginative style and bombastity. What a blessing to see that there are others out there that are appalled by the NFL's decision to let Michael Vick back in. The difference between Vick and Limbaugh, Mr. McKague, is that Vick is a criminal and Limbaugh is not. Yes, the Lord can forgive and pardon Vick for his crimes, if he asks Him to; but the point is we dont' need people like Vick to be role models for our children. Commit the crime, do a little time, and then back to the big bucks. That's hypocrisy at it's finest. Limbaugh, on the other hand, is a person that thinks for himself and encourages others to do the same. That is the kind of person we need to point to as model Americans. Thanks for the refreshing point of view, Jim.

dallin7kerby@aol.com

Jim that was great...It really got me at 1st when you were agianst rush, but then i got the sarcasm there towards the end. And this is to Amanda! Get over yourself and get off jims back. And if you knew anything about the bible or God you would know that JIm, Rush, or you cant win people to christ because you are either chosen or your not. Predestination, read up about it. GOOD JOB JIM

Amanda Odatuwa

I must say tat I am disapinted with Jim. Even though this piece is meant to be a joke but I can't help wodr whether or not you actually support Rush Limbaugh. Are we now saying tha any one who does not support President Obama, blacksand other ethnic mnority people is a christian.

Only recently a an who claims to be a pastor of abaptist church was praying and is stll praying for Obama to die, and the alarmin thing is that he justified that prayer by quoting the bible! I realy can no longer tell the difference between christians and nonbelievers. How can we ask God to lead non believers to christ when the socalled christians cannot lead by example for example love your neighbour as you love yourself. And we preten to be surprised at the number of christians backsliding, may God have mercy on us.

The bible says that you have accept Jesus Christ as personal Lrd and Saviour before you can be called a child of God not to talk of enterig the Kigdom of God. I oter words, just merey calling yourself or becoming a member of the Republican party does not qualify you to become a christian.

Jim, I am disappointed with you because the comparison you made between Rush and Vick was uncalled for. As I christia I believe there is no place for jokes like that. We as christians should speak the truth. Don't forget, we are all her today because of blood shed on the cross of calvary for your sins and mine. According to Paul, we do what we do b his grace that is Jesus Christ.

Jim, ask yourself this question, how is your joke or whatever you call it going win Vick or Rush to Christ or is that our principal role here on earth, to win as many souls as possible to Christ.

Remember God put you on radio for a reason but cerainly not to crack sarcastic jokes like this one on Vick and Rush.

There are many peope who claimto specialise on internet business coahing but yu know what, I id not go to them instead I paid and bought the internet business coaching tip from you because you appeared on Day Star and Day is station that I have supported financially forthe good work they are doing for the Kingdom of God and its my sincere hope that you are genuinely a member of the Kingdom of God.

Blessings to you and yours.

Amanda.

Rev. Michael Fowler

Jim Your are so right.
People get a grip, when you wake up and have no rights and are working on a community farm, just for potatoe soup you will realize some of us were right(RL,JP). Hell is full of non believeing People, if you denie Jesus your damn. Wake up people you are losing your rights left and right. Here in Florida there is a Sunshine Law that when two or more governmental people meet the press are to be invited, where is the open government promised by Obama on his campain trail, nothing but lies, closed door meetings and hidden agendas, pork projects, hidden deals. Gods rath is coming America wake up before it is too late. We should not appoligise for anything we were attacked first. enough said.

Randy

I enjoyed your piece Jim. I feel the NFL's decision on Limbaugh goes back to his debacle as a sport show analyst when he criticized Donovan McNabb. They weren't prepared to go down that road again. I rarely agree with anything that professional sports dictators decide. Partial ownership would have given Rush a voice in league policy decisions. The "good ole boy" owners don't want anyone rocking their boat. God Bless you and your family Jim.

MAC

Thank you James for your clever piece. The unfortunate part is there are too many people who don't have an intelligent sense of humor. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand your writings and some people showed just how little they know. From the tones of some people I think they are church goers trying to pass themselves off as Christians. Our country is falling apart thanks to libs. and these people are trying to blame Rush. We have people on "state run media" attributing comments to Rush that he never said.(originating from a New York law firm.) So just who are these people that could speak so hatefully about you and Rush? Christians? I don't buy it. Please do the Lord a favor people and don't tell anyone you are a christian. Anyone with half a brain tied behind their back could understand exactly what you were saying. Be Blessed Jim!

Nancy

I thought it was genious. My first reaction was "WHAT?!" and then it was easy to see the sarcasm when you contrasted the two. The negative reaction to this article by some is relative. It never ceases to amaze me how some have their good and evil switched around...

rdb

I honestly do not understand how anyone could not see the sarcasm in this writing. Goodness people Jim was trying to make a point here and your responses have him sleeping with his dog.

Joy Reagan

Just to put it plainly to those who don't get this piece: This is purely sarcastic. The article actually means the opposite of what is says. It is displaying the irony of the situation. He is actually a supporter of Rush Limbaugh. Try rereading it...

Kenneth E. MacAlister Jr.

Thank you sir for a good laugh & for showing the knee jerk reactions of those who don't read carefully & between the lines. Reading this brilliant piece of sarcasm was like watching Liberal attempts to justify their blatant hipocracy & double standards. My hat (if I wore one) is off to you! Take care & God bless you sir!

Paul

He is reaping what he sowed. Karma “plain and simple” (like his followers).

Paul

There are alot more men and women with a lot more money than Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie, he they fealt he could negatively affect the bottom line. It was karma in the end, sweet.

Brenda

Christian bigotry always brings a tear to my eye. My church does not preach hate and racism. My Jesus does not condone it. I'm sorry that yours does. I will pray for you.

Chris

UNLESS <> you are illustrating the irony :) in which case, i will enthusiasticly ENDORSE your iconoclastic remark ;)

Chris

i cant believe you Jim. im stunned. you are an idiot. you will never again recieve a penny from me. and in turn will do everything in my power to communicate who and what you are truly all about.

"sarcasticly yours," Chris Studley.

Powerful piece! Unfortunately, not everyone who reads it will get it, but that just separates the wheat from the chaff. J. D. Sumner once noted that "Salvation doesn't mean you suddenly get smarter. If you were an idiot before you got saved, you'll just be a saved idiot after."

Vivian Aldana

Mr. Paris,

I would like to commend you on your audacity. It proves that Rush has fully indoctrinated you into his camp. Because of your open letter, you have let the whole world know that Rush is RIGHT! People are like sheep led to the slaughter. It appears that you will joyfully be the first in line.

Psalms 1:1-2 says:
Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

Does Rush delight you more than the Lord?

ReaganTMan

It is subversives like Rush Limbaugh that will hinder the effort to wean the American people off the capitalist system and self reliant lifestyles.

It's rabble rousers like Rush who got us into this mess in the 1770's. Surely, he would have sided with those society destroying menaces who led to our breaking with the crown.

Look where that "revolution" debaucle got us. We never even got to participate in the communist revolutions of the early and mid 1900's.

Thank God there's a salary cap in the NFL. At least someone understands Marx.

Tammy

I think it was a well done piece. You captured it very well. Problem is that a lot of our public wasn't intelligent enough to figure that out. That's obvious from a couple of the emails and responses you've received. No wonder the American People are so easy to manipulate.

twitter.com/KevinRMc

Here is one major difference between Michael Vick and Rush Limbaugh:

Despite his many drawbacks, Vick has a talent which is marketable. His team has made a decision, based on capitalistic merits, that the benefits of his skills outweigh the damage caused by having an ex-con guilty of a animal abuse on the team. (Granted, many will dispute that there is a net benefit, but that is an argument for another day.)

Rush Limbaugh offers nothing but money, money which can easily be gotten elsewhere by other buyers, and also is also guilty of holding many socially unacceptable habits, mainly, he makes racially insensitive comments. (http://tinyurl.com/yg9n5zw)

There is no vast left-wing conspiracy here. Basically, the NFL made a decision based purely on capitalistic motives. They simply were unwilling to take on the expense of being in a business relationship with Rush Limbaugh.

Remember dittoheads: There's no crying in football!

Bob

Did you hear that! it was the sound of the hammer hitting the nail on the head .

Thanks Jim

James Paris

I have never had this kind of response before. A little scary. I might have my dog sleep in my bed with me tonight.

James Paris

and then this from another e mailer to me:

Rush is a hatemonger, and a racist You people are not the ONLY supposed Christians. He has insulted Black people for years. Once in a blue moon he might say something that makes sense. It infuriates me that Whites try to justify him and make him a Christian. Read the BOOK, OK (Holy Bible)?

His junk is nothing short of thinly veiled racism, and he spews that rhetoric out like the poison that it is. Instead of praying like GOD said for the leaders, you guys are trying to make sure that the nation falls apart. Find that in the Bible. You need to check yourself and see what spirit you & Rush are allowing to rule.

James Paris

This just in:

YOU SIR, ARE AN IDIOT.
RUSH LIMBAUGH WAS ACCUSED OF BEING A BIGGOT BY A BIGGOT. THAT PLAYER THAT STATED THE NFL WAS 75% BLACK NEVER STOPPED TO REALIZE THAT MORE THAN HALF THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL ARE CAUCASION!!!
PLEASE DON'T SEND ME ANY MORE OF YOUR RUBBISH PERSONAL OPINIONS. I WAS CONSIDERING BUYING INTO YOUR WEB BUSINESS STUFF BUT I JUST MADE UP MY MIND. FIND ANOTHER SUCKER, SIR.

Joseph Kalinowski

Good points Jim. But this could be a blessing after all if Rush moves his money overseas. With the shrinking of the U.S. dollar Rush would be smart to invest in a team overseas. He would get more return for his investment. I'd go for a good European soccer team if I was Rush.

Pat

I agree Jim there is definitely a double standard. Everything seems to be ok except conservatism and Christianity.

Jeff

Jim, you almost sounded like Rush there for a moment. But of course, your wife might be right, you probably are crazy. LOL It is definitely a good piece if you are smart enough to understand that it is a joke.

Paul

It seems to me that all the negative vibes this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has been spewing over these many years has come back to blow back on his face (A classic “Blow Back”). He always tries to give off the airs that he can have anything he wants but as we all witness those with more money and influence tossed him aside like sack of potatoes and the ultimate insult was that it was done in public (money don’t buy you everything butterball).

Now of course he blames everyone else (Michael J. Fox, Perez Hilton, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Sonia Sotomayor, Hillary Clinton, Olympia Snowe, ESPN, NFL, the media, basically people of color, women and gays) when of course all you have to do is listen to his show and plainly hear his daily prejudices filled sermons. So NFL, I salute you decision, job well done. And to the whaling cry baby perched on his self made pedestal, quit your whining it was your own fault. Don’t we all feel better?

Steve

AMEN!!!!!

Greg

The title and lead-in were provocative, but the intent was clear very early in the article. As for the comparison to Michael Vick, the hypocrisy was perfectly illustrated by the example. We forgive MV for his horrendous criminial acts, but not RL for exercising his and our Constitutional rights!!!! Michael Vick paid his debt to society, but what would disqualify Rush Limbaugh. His conservative views and their expression. Every American owes a debt to Rush Limbaugh. This is from someone who is not a close follower of Mr. Limbaugh.

Melody Steiner

Nicely put Jim! Thanks for writing this, I will definetly be sharing this on Facebook!

James Paris

My wife thinks I am crazy and that no one will see the sarcasm in this piece. What do you think?

Jim Paris

Allister

I agree with you James that limbaugh should be allowed to invest because he does have the
money, but leave Vick out of this. He did his time already.
